17 years this week.
This coming weekend marks 17 years that I have been married to my husband. It really doesn’t seem like that long. What is funny is when I think that we have been married almost half of our lives. What does one buy for a 17th wedding anniversary? I am thinking about getting my husband a wine of the month membership. Last summer he spent a good deal of time trying to make his own wine which I must say turned out terrible. For some reason his bottles kept exploding. We have had several friend who came home to find wine all over their kitchen’s where one of his bottles had suddenly burst. It would be fun to give him something he enjoys that actually tastes good and isn’t dangerous to home or health.
No commentsTraining and more training.
Almost a month ago my husband started a new job. Part of taking this job was a requirement that he travel several hours away for a training session that would last 6 weeks. This training would cover all types of topics including budgeting, corporate performance management, and general business oversight issues. This week he called to tell me that instead of 6 weeks he is going to have to stay for an additional 2 weeks of training. This means his entire summer is going to be spend living in a hotel. This job is such a good job that we can’t let this time apart become an issue. I am now going to pack up our kids and we are going to go live in the hotel with my husband. I am actually really looking forward to this time away from home.
No commentsSitting around being lazy.
Yesterday I had outpatient surgery and have spent today just sitting around being lazy. This isn’t entirely true because with a toddler and an 8 year old at home there is always something to do. When I have gotten some time to sit down and relax I have been spending time surfing the net and checking my email. It is always fun to go through my spam mail and see all the people who “know” me and send emails. There are always tons of email saying I have won a contest of some sort or these weird emails from people across the world writing on behalf of Prince KVM Maseratti who has left me $5 million dollars. It always makes me giggle to think that these people actually think there are people in this world who so desperately want to believe someone left them money that they hand over their bank account information. Don’t even get me started on the countless social networking emails I get asking me to be someone’s “friend”!
No commentsDetails and more details.
As part of my husband’s new job we had to make a number of changes in our lives. One of these changes involved switching our insurance to a new carrier. We really didn’t have time to look into getting auto insurance quotes and went with a name we recognized in the area. Fortunately, the transition was pretty much seamless and painless. I wish the other details were this easy but for some reason getting our medical insurance switched over is not as easy as clicking a few buttons and viola we are set. Twenty calls and I still don’t have the answers I need and keep getting told to call back in a day or two.
No commentsHow should I know?
A friend of mine is having her 5th and final child this summer. She is already planning out how she is going to reclaim her body once the baby is here. She has been questioning me about the best diet pills that work. I have no idea why she thinks I would know anything about this. I have never talked to her about taking diet pills nor have I tried any of them. The only thing I know that works is eating less and moving more. There just isn’t a short cut to happiness when it comes to getting in shape. Of course this isn’t really what she wants to hear right now so I will just keep my thoughts to myself on the matter.
No commentsLost my right hand.
When my husband went away to train for his new job he took my laptop computer. I didn’t realize how much I used it until it was gone. I feel completely lost when it comes to getting my work done. I like the flexibility of being able to sit on my front porch or in our bedroom and work. Working at my desktop is like being chained to the desk and I just don’t like it. On the other hand I really like being able to get daily emails from my husband updating me on his day and how things are going. Somehow I will muddle along but it is going to be a long 6 weeks until he comes back.
No commentsEye pain.
For some reason my eyes hurt to touch around the outside edge. I don’t think it has anything to do with my eyeglasses. It seems more like I have had an allergic reaction to something. This happened to me a long time ago when I came across something that I was allergic to and then rubbed my eyes. I have been taking allergy medicine but it doesn’t seem to have made much of a difference. I think I am going to try a warm compress tonight and see if that makes any difference. If anything it is a good excuse to sit down and relax for a minute or two.
No commentsThinning down via stress.
When you want to loose weight you could always look into buying Phentermine without prescription or you could just try my diet. Several weeks of sleepless nights, cranky kids, multiple deadlines, and a spouse who has gone away for weeks on business. It really is an amazing kind of diet. I stepped on the scale this morning expecting to see at least 7 more pounds register than what ultimately did. I have to say as stressed as I am that it was pleasing to see one positive aspect come out of all the chaos we are currently dealing with. Not that I would recommend this diet to everyone!
No commentsWhat to do?
We will soon be applying for a mortgage. Should we turn a profit on our house I am just not sure what to do with the money. Do we use it to pay down our current debts or do we save it to make a down payment on a new house. Our current credit cards carry a 0 balance transfer rate and a super low APR which makes them a really good deal. I recently consolidated all of our debts onto one card and would love to eliminate that debt. I just don’t want to pay off our debts and then not qualify for a new mortgage because we don’t have any savings. I suppose I shouldn’t really worry about this until the house sells.
No commentsActive neighbors
My neighbors are incredibly active and seem to be constantly on the go. Recently we were told that the wife was pregnant for the fifth time and was already talking about her workout routine for this pregnancy and was even talking about waiting two years and having another one. Pretty soon they are going to need to buy a bus to haul them around every where. The amazing part is that in itself, they actually don’t have any problems with dropping everything and getting the kids ready for a trip to the playground or to the movies. I think they actually enjoy it. I have two kids and dread getting them ready and out the door in the morning. Maybe I should go talk to her and get some pointers and just not have anymore kids.
